Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM)

Donations page for FAMM ("Join" page)

Design notes:

No online form -- very costly to not have that.

No way to donate, only join. Those already joined are effectively prevented from donating. The "join" page - The only way this site suggests to send them money is to "join". This means no repeat donations, and drives the many people who don't want to spend their time getting all involved and making a commitment. This lack of a plain quick-donate page is as bad as finding another site's Donate link broken. Weak call for money at this site.

No interlink between current newsletter issue http://www.famm.org/latest.htm and http://www.famm.org/gram.html archives. Latest.htm has links to excerpts -- so gram.html should also have those links. latest.htm section for newslet should link to archives page.

Home page wastes screen space and pushes main links offscreen. Banner instructions is way too high on page - they are more concerned with propagating the pointer to their site than highlighting the info within their site - this is a type of root-URL mistake. Too concerned with getting people to the home page, home page obsessed, instead of designing for maximum instant penetration into site.

There are no links on the home page top screen. Bad. Compare standard top page navbar at http://www.famm.org/latest.htm.

http://www.famm.org/fammgr_June99/FAMM%20Chapters.htm - no email addresses, no websites. Should have both, for ONLINE communication. These people might have chapter webpages they want linked from here.

Lacks Links page. Would help. There are links throughout site. Could list them all in one page with brief systematic description paragraphs.
